Registration Open for International Disaster Conference and Expo

The International Disaster Conference & Expo (IDCE) announces the opening of registration for IDCE2013. Disaster management professionals from around the globe are invited to attend what promises to be one of the industry’s most substantive and important meetings ever, the International Disaster Conference and Exposition, January 8 - 10, 2013, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Attendees can register through the IDCE2013 website at www.internationaldisasterconference.com.

Inspired by the growing need for collaboration among disaster management professionals to deal with catastrophic disasters, the conference brings together public and private emergency professionals from around the world. Both government and private business and from all industry segments – homeland security, emergency preparation, disaster response and recovery, loss mitigation, business continuity, resiliency and more are expected to attend. Speakers, exhibitors and attendees will share the latest knowledge, technologies and techniques toward the common goal of minimizing the loss of life and property in future catastrophic events.

"The IDCE is an opportunity for emergency management and homeland security professionals to learn from each other in order to become better prepared for and to improve how they respond to emergencies of all types," noted Tom Ridge, first U.S. secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and before that was sworn in as the first White House director of Homeland Security. A former governor of Pennsylvania, Ridge is now president and CEO of Ridge Global, an international security and risk management firm headquartered in Washington, DC.
IDCE has received the endorsement and support of federal agencies and major industry professional associations, including the International Association of Emergency Managers and the National Emergency Managers Association.

"Our goal in bringing together members of the various industry sectors, public and private, is to provide them an opportunity to broaden their knowledge and to create a forum for greater cohesiveness that will enhance global response and recovery efforts," added Jimmy Mouton, director of tradeshows and conferences of the Convention Center, which owns and is producing the event.

In addition to the opportunity to exchange information and share best practices with fellow emergency professionals, attendees will hear from notable speakers, presenters, panelists and special guests, including recognized industry leaders and executives of key industry associations and businesses across the globe. International industry leaders from Canada, the Caribbean, Netherlands, Australia, Europe, China, Japan, Haiti and more, some who have served their nations and localities during some of the most traumatic events of our times, will share their nation’s stories and lessons learned.

As well, the conference is unique among industry meetings in offering a major exposition, more than 4,000 attendees and over 220 exhibitors featuring the latest innovations in emergency management programs and products. A separate New Product Showcase will feature the latest technologies and innovations in disaster management.

IDCE has secured the participation and/or endorsement of some of the most internationally recognized associations, agencies, and organizations serving the industry today, including:
